GET HELP WITH YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY

What Is Tesofensine?

Tesofensine is a medication originally studied for brain health, but researchers quickly noticed its strong effects on weight loss.

Unlike most weight loss drugs, tesofensine works by increasing three key brain chemicals: dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin.

These are the same chemicals that affect hunger, mood, focus, and energy.

That combination makes tesofensine different from common medications like semaglutide or tirzepatide.

Instead of mimicking hormones, it targets your brain’s appetite control center to help reduce hunger and support long-term fat loss.

How Tesofensine Works

Tesofensine helps your brain feel full faster and stay full longer.

It does this by acting on the hypothalamus—the part of your brain that regulates hunger and energy.

At the same time, it increases your resting metabolic rate, which means your body burns more calories even when you’re not exercising.

For many people, that leads to fewer cravings, smaller portions, and more consistent energy throughout the day.

It also makes it easier to stay focused, motivated, and in control of your food choices.

Tesofensine Benefits

Let’s take a look at some of the top Tesofensine benefits:

Noticeable Weight Loss

In clinical trials, people taking tesofensine had weight loss on an average of 22 to 29 pounds over six months.

The more consistent the dose and lifestyle changes, the better the results.

Even people who had struggled with other medications saw improvements.

Reduced Appetite and Cravings

Tesofensine helps you feel satisfied with less food.

Most people find they naturally stop overeating because their brain isn’t sending constant hunger signals.

You don’t have to white-knuckle your way through every meal.

Boosted Energy and Focus

Because it increases dopamine and norepinephrine, tesofensine often helps improve motivation and mental clarity.

You might find it easier to stay active, stick to routines, and be more productive in your day-to-day life.

Better Mood Support

Losing weight can be emotionally challenging, especially if you’ve been through it before.

Tesofensine supports serotonin levels, which may help lift your mood and reduce stress-related eating.

Possible Metabolic Support

Early research suggests tesofensine may improve how your body processes sugar and fat, though that’s still being studied.

If you’re dealing with insulin resistance or metabolic slowdown, this might offer an extra benefit.

Tesofensine vs Other Weight Loss Medications

Tesofensine isn’t part of the GLP-1 family like semaglutide or tirzepatide.

Instead of working through the gut, it works directly in the brain.

That makes it a good option for people who don’t respond well to injections or want something oral that still targets hunger and motivation.

Compared to phentermine, tesofensine may lead to more weight loss and fewer energy crashes.

It also tends to work well for those who need longer-term support without feeling jittery or overly stimulated.

Tesofensine Side Effects

Like any medication, tesofensine can have side effects.

The most common ones are dry mouth, nausea, trouble sleeping, or a faster heart rate.

Some people feel a little more anxious when starting, especially at higher doses.

These side effects usually improve with time and are easier to manage when you start low and increase slowly.

That’s why working with a provider who understands the dosing is key.

At Eternity Health Partners, we personalize your plan to help minimize these issues and get the most out of your results.

Who Is a Good Fit for Tesofensine?

You might be a good candidate for tesofensine if:

  • Your body mass index (BMI) is 30 or higher
  • Your BMI is 27 or higher with other health concerns like high blood pressure or prediabetes
  • You haven’t had success with other medications
  • You want an alternative to weekly injections

Tesofensine isn’t for everyone.

If you’re pregnant, have uncontrolled high blood pressure, or take certain antidepressants, we’ll help you explore other options.

How Fast Does Tesofensine Work?

Most people begin noticing a difference in their appetite and energy within the first few weeks.

Significant weight loss tends to happen over the first three to six months.

Staying consistent with your plan, making healthy food choices, and staying active can speed things up.

FAQs: Tesofensine Benefits

What are the benefits of tesofensine vs tirzepatide?
Tesofensine works through the brain by increasing dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin to reduce appetite and boost energy, while tirzepatide mimics gut hormones to manage blood sugar and slow digestion. Tesofensine may lead to quicker appetite suppression and doesn’t require injections, making it a good alternative for those who prefer oral options.

What are the benefits of tesofensine vs semaglutide?
Tesofensine offers weight loss benefits by enhancing neurotransmitters that control hunger and motivation, while semaglutide acts on GLP-1 receptors to reduce appetite and slow gastric emptying. Tesofensine may provide additional benefits like improved mood and focus, and it’s taken orally instead of via weekly injection.

What are tesofensine side effects?
Common side effects of tesofensine include dry mouth, nausea, trouble sleeping, increased heart rate, and mild anxiety. These effects are usually dose-dependent and may improve over time with proper medical guidance.

How much weight can you lose with tesofensine?
Clinical studies have shown that people can lose between 22 to 29 pounds (10 to 13 kg) over a 6-month period with tesofensine, depending on the dose and lifestyle factors.

What is the function of tesofensine?
Tesofensine is a triple monoamine reuptake inhibitor that helps reduce appetite, increase satiety, boost metabolism, and support weight loss by elevating dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin levels in the brain.

Does tesofensine affect sleep?
Tesofensine can cause sleep disturbances like insomnia in some users, especially at higher doses. Starting at a lower dose and taking it earlier in the day can help reduce this effect.

Does tesofensine raise blood pressure?
Tesofensine may cause a slight increase in heart rate or blood pressure in some individuals. Regular monitoring by a healthcare provider can help manage this and determine if it’s the right option for you.

MEET ELIZABETH BECKNER AND DAISHA ESCAMILLA

OUR CALIFORNIA LICENSED PHLEBOTOMISTS

Liz started doing personal blood draws after her son, Dashiell, was born with Zellwegers disease. His diagnosis required numerous blood draws and drug levels throughout his life. After sitting through long wait times at the labs followed by watching many different phlebotomists, many new to the job, struggle to find his veins, often poking him multiple times, as a seasoned phlebotomist, Liz decided to draw his blood at home and hand deliver it to the lab myself. Soon after she began doing personal touch blood draws so she can now offer that same personalized service to you.

Liz graduated from Pepperdine University with a degree in Biology in 1994. She moved to Santa Barbara and earned her phlebotomy certificate in 1995. Liz began working at St. Francis Medical Center in the Physical Therapy Department and quickly transferred to the Laboratory. Perfecting her venipuncture techniques on all floors of the hospital, including post-operative patients, pregnant women going into labor, sick or premature babies, and emergency room patrons, she then improved her patient care skills working for internal medicine doctors, one of whom was the Medical Director of Hospice and won Doctor of the Year. In 1999, Liz started working with a group of local retinal surgeons. Her primary job consisted of injecting dye into arm veins and photographing its flow through the patients retinal vessels. When patients are worried about their diagnosis or apprehensive about the procedure because of difficult veins, her quick, almost pain free needle stick and kind but professional bed side manner would put them at ease.

The various settings and patients Liz has encountered over the years have enabled her to become very skilled at finding the smallest and most fragile of vessels. Her specialities include infants and the elderly, diabetics of all ages, patients with rolling veins, on blood thinners or chemotherapy. She lives in downtown Santa Barbara, travels from Goleta to Carpintera and brings all the necessary supplies directly to you. All she needs from you is a lab request and your home or office becomes an instant draw station. Appointment times are very flexible, and she is friendly, reliable and punctual. Be kind to your arm and treat yourself to the luxury blood draw you deserve!!!

MEET MICHAEL BROOKINS; BS, CNMT, ABAAHP

Mike brings more than just a medical perspective to his clients; at the age of 14, he began an athletic career as a pole-vaulter that would end up taking him on an incredible journey over the next 13 years of his life. Throughout his athletic journey Mike was constantly working to find the ideal balance of fitness and proper nutrition in order to maximize his performances. Combined with his medical knowledge the years of athletic experience provide a unique and successful combination that serve to benefit his staff and clients.

“After I shifted the focus of my practice from Sports Medicine into Nuclear Medicine specifically Interventional Endocrinology. I found myself questioning our western medical paradigm…Here I was performing thyroid cancer and Hyperthyroidism treatments with harmful radical thyroid radioactive ablations which really made me take a hard look in the mirror and become more of a researcher to find safer and more effective options to better treat my clients. During my research I realized that there were very few, if any, medically directed programs focused towards achieving a “Healthier Lifestyle” rather than typical “Diet” fads.” A few years later after training and working with some of the worlds foremost Bio-identical Hormone Replacement specialists I became Board Certified in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. Sort of just found my passion and the answers I had been looking for with this new specialty finally after years of treating people with the Band-Aid “fix it when its broken” mentality instead of at the root cause.”

Mike has spent the last 10 years in Anti-Aging, Functional and Regenerative Medicine. He has trained over 120 physicians in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine and consulting for their practices. Today his vision is a reality, and clients from all of the world come to benefit from the successful programs that have been established at Age Management Institute Santa Barbara. He firmly believes in educating the patient about the importance of good nutrition, hormone balance, stress management, and regular exercise is the key to aging well and having a high quality of life well into your golden years.
